What do you think about this???
My feelings… This image really shocked me! Child and vulture… I was full of indignation and criticized the photographer’ actions. How he could take a photo while so little miracle was on the line of death…
After this photo was published in New York Times lots of people wanted to know what’s had happened with Sudanese toddler. The image was haunted so many people… Kevin Carter was under heavy criticism for just photographing and not helping the girl. One year later on May 23, 1994 Carter was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Featury Photography.
What’s then...
Tragic fate touched this photographer. Kevin Carter end his life by suicide… At age of 33 he died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Carter's suicide notes…
“I am depressed ... without phone ... money for rent ... money for child support ... money for debts ... money!!! ... I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings & corpses & anger & pain ... of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners...I have gone to join Ken if I am that lucky.”
* By this picture he showed for the whole world one of the tragic episodes of African continent. This girl, in my mind, became a symbol of great horror and at the same time gave hope and faith for African people…

Beauty of images...
Today I want to touch very interesting topic – photojournalism. I am sure that it’s really cool and exciting profession…With photos we can create history. Images always attract people’s looks and minds… Photos and pictures give you really good chance to deep into the history and feel the culmination moment of each story. Every photo has it’s own influence… I want to say that images always bring into our life different kind of amusing lobules, sunny or gloomy…
Different emotions and feelings are rising in my soul when I look at really touching heart photos-manuscripts.Without such visual things as pictures, movies, photos it will be very difficult for journalist to create a really strong article (story) for their audience… The core of your image lay on three things: timeliness, objectivity and narrativeness …
Every photojournalist has its’ own style and core. From their plumes of object glasses cameras the manuscripts are created… They make us feel and think about news, which we observed in different ways and perspectives.
Every journalist might listen his heart and mind in order to present even boring story in such fascinating manner that it will be interesting and understandable for both intellegences as well as for ordinary people…
Think for a minute about future, your future… After graduation every one of us will go his own path. Some will be reporters, some will go to Public Relations sphere, but some I hope will go on the way of photojournalism.
· Artistic aptitude
· Mechanical aptitude (related to International Technologies)
· High ethical standard
· Quick thinking and adaptability
If you have all this list of “terrible” points welcome into the ranks of photojournalists!!!
If you want to be professional in your sphere you always must develop skills. I like article about Careers in Photojournalism where I hope you will also find some useful and interesting information. Firstly I was glad to read that castle of knowledge which you can create at university and during your whole life will be some kind of platform for your future career (hobby)… In order to be a good photojournalist it’s important to be a creative person as well as a good reporter. The area of photography is very competitive and harsh, and you need to be prepared and advanced beforehand. Hey, what’s about NIT??? The impact of new technologies is huge for photojournalism. Due to updated equipments photojournalists can easily and rapidly create high-quality images by using advanced computers and mobile phones.
For the dessert I want to show you the image of Goran Tomasevic from Reuters who was given the 1st place in “Local Portrait and Personality” nomination (The best of Photojournalism 2006)…
A little girl who is an earthquake survivor...
“A little girl who is an earthquake survivor sits inside a tent at a camp in the devastated city of Muzaffarabad November 24, 2005. The head of the U.N. refugee agency said on Thursday the focus of Pakistani earthquake relief efforts was now to avert a tragedy over the imminent winter.”
Practice, practice and practice…
And you will achieve your star!!!

Advertising...
Advertising became a crazy important part of our daily life. It is everywhere… A lot of billboards along streets, television screens and radio waves are full of advertisings… Live without such product like “advertisement” means you are not a part of society, you are simply on another planet…Advertising is the business of drawing public attention to goods and services, and is performed through a variety of media. It is an important part of an overall promotional strategy.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Advertising started on a journey in ancient times, when ancestors used the most common form of advertising by word of mouth. Rock Paintings for commercial advertising was another manifestation of an ancient media advertising form. Even nowadays this form is presented in many parts of Asia, South America and Africa…
Today…
Advertising as a drug, which has great influence on our minds. Sometimes it can be dangerous (alcohol and smoking), sometimes very useful. I think that advertising is very important for every person especially for those who want to be on one way with the world.
“We conduct the festival with an educational purpose as well, in order to let people watch, feel and listen to all the new tendencies that exist in advertising. We also want to bring novelty to this contest, as the levels increase when people compete,” Yuri Kischenko, Chairman of Association Advertising Agencies of Kazakhstan.
Also I was proud that Michael Conrad, the president of the Berlin creative leadership school and chairman of the jury panel of this festival pointed that “despite the Kazakhstan advertising market being in its infancy, its production is competitive and it has an innovative approach. There is also freshness and idea in every work.”
Even if you don’t like importunate advertising during “watching your favorite serial” you can’t exclude the importance of this magnetic thing.

Can we draw a parallel between NIT and PR?
PR specialists — also referred to as communications specialists and media specialists. Public Relations specialists do more than “tell the organization’s story.” They must do everything: understand the attitudes, needs and concerns of community, consumer, employee, employer and public interest groups. Also they establish and keep good, cooperative relationships with representatives from print and broadcast journalism.
Only imagine that every half second a new blog appears on the Internet. Each day 175,000 blogs are created. It’s really big numbers!
“Blog is a form of journalistic expression it is not a tool...”
Also it was mentioned that blog is like a pen which is not a poem but an instrument to write. According to this article non-bloggers think that blog is a tool to make a blog. But it’s wrong perception of "blogging phenomenon".
Robin Good the author of interesting article “Blogs As Instruments For Effective PR” pointed that “blogs are an extremely effective instrument for PR”.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Blogs are the instrument through which PR, PA and Communications can transform themselves from an impersonal and increasingly inefficient business practices to outstandingly effective means of ethical promotion, extended exposure and ability to engage the company/organization/yourself in important topics that synergize and contribute to the realization of your mission.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Blog is a form of personal expression where you can speak with your audience in natural tone. Blog it’s not only personal, original, funny diaries it’s also a tool which play important role in business.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
A blog provides a direct voice from your company bridging your mission inside the organization with the customers out there. The blog shows that there is someone "real" talking and responding to the continuos market conversations being engaged by your existing and potential stakeholders.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
One of the PR specialists John Porcaro raised a very interesting topic. If you are a blogger and at the same time work in Public Relations sphere its necessary for you to balance between your personal and professional aims. Looking through his article you will meet with his working experiences in PR with combination of NIT. Also he pointed that blog help to be a good specialist in marketing sphere – integral part of PR. Communication with customers through blogging system give you possibility to meet with their preferences, needs and reach out consumers.
The cooperation between PR and blog play significant role for most PR specialists…
If you always want to be on the “center of actions” you must follow for undergoing change of New Information Technologies. Public Relations is always changing as well as modern technologies. One of the three most influential PR bloggers in the world, Jeremy Pepper said: "The practice of public relations is fluid, and ever changing such that through the years, we've seen pitches go from faxes to emails to now RSS”.
Blogging and wikis are the latest trends… If you want to be a part of these original PR changes be ready to dip into the World of Prblogs.org . You are welcome!!!

Hey! Come here... I will bring you in the world of fresh, latest information...
Another very interesting Internet thing is RSS. "Really Simple Syndication" is a special format used by weblogs and news sites for distributing content. It’s really useful and comfortable for all journalists as well as for people in PR who strive to be well informed about what’s important has happened in the whole planet during last hours… In the article “RSS for Journalists” the author compare RSS with butler who search Web and present on a silver platter all information in which busy PR specialist is needy. This new method is practical, efficient and save your value time!
Ethics is also essential ingredient “in ration of food” for every Public Relations person. All people of different proffesions should follow Code of Ethics. The canons of ethichs are based on huge fundaments of your personal world-outlook, perceptions of reality and society… The elements “Ethics of Journalism” are similar to Ethics for professionals in Public Relations sphere. According to article “What ethics should bloggers have?” some features are shown. “There are pillars of good journalism and also of cool PR: thoroughness, accuracy, fairness, transparency and independence.”
In conclusion I want to say that Public Relations and New Information Technologies together are great power! Using cool things of NIT you as young or professional PR specialist (my future colleague) will achieve really good results in your lovely profession...
Don't forget about ethics!!!

Journalist’s Creed...

Hello my dear guests!
It’s really cool to communicate with you through this funny blog!!!
Weltanschauung is a very important part of every person. If you look around and dip into your own inner world, you can say that people have different characters, religions, upbringing; therefore different point of views and colorful perception of life …
Let’s met with the Journalist’s Creed which was written by the first Dean of the Missouri School of Journalism, Walter Williams. This declaration remains one of the clearest statements of the principles, values and standards of journalists throughout the world one century later.
Read it! And may be you will “take note” of this.
Should journalists follow the canons and rules of truth when his life hangs by a thread? How we could cover news and bring people only truthful and objective information when we have corruption system?
Recently my friend has told me that we can’t change the SYSTEM. There are a lot of people who have power, money and don’t want to loose all these things. Media is a significant tool in their hands.
People who go against the system automatically go against the whole society…
In my point of view if you choose such professions as Journalism or Public Relations you need to be prepare for different situations and moments.
Accuracy and fairness of one journalist could “shove” other colleagues to think, or may be to change their minds.
Looking through these points I think about the future of journalism. I believe that together we (all journalists and ordinary people) could do everything. We could change our world and society in a better way and subdue the system.
On the way of reputation?...
Do you want to know how to save good reputation of your company for a long time?
Just be with us and read this...
“10 things you should be monitoring”
Internet “wrap around” all people in the world. New Information Technologies are developing rapidly. Through this Global System you can do everything you want. That’s why if you have company, small or big, you must monitoring all things and information which “by some side” will influence on your name, image and reputation.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Tracking your buzz is really something that is becoming more and more important over and will continue to increase in importance as time goes on.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
The person, Cameron Olthuis will meet you with these marvellous things… Also he can share with you by his pesonal experiences in successful online marketing…
1. Company name - Obviously your company name is one of the most important things that you need to monitor. Anytime your company or products are mentioned, you should know. Ex. Google
2. Company URL - It is also important to track your company URL for those times when someone links to your company but doesn't mention it by name. This happens a lot and is just another way to make sure you are covering all your bases. Ex. http://google.com
3. Public facing figures - Track the names of any key employees in your company that are public facing figures. What is said about these people also reflects on your company and usually when this people are talked about your company is tied in with that. Ex. Eric Schmidt, Sergey Brin, Larry Page.
4. Product names - Track any of your company's product or service names as well. What are people saying about your products and services? Ex. Gmail, Picasa, Dodgeball
5. Product URLs - For the same reasons that you need to specifically track your company's URL you should also be tracking your product URLs as well. Ex. http://gamil.com/, http://picasa.com/, http://dodgeball.com
6. The industry "hang outs" - This includes blogs, message boards, important players, consumer review sites, and anything else that's related to your industry. Many times the industry feedback, that you can discover from the conversations at these "hang outs" can really help you improve your product or service. It is also a way for you to interactive with your potential and existing customers. Ex. http://searchenginewatch.com/, http://seroundtable.com/, http://threadwatch.org
7. Employee activity/blogs - Things your employees do online can affect your brand image. If you have employees that blog, it is smart to at least know about their MySpace accounts, Flickr accounts and personal blogs. I am not saying that you should spy on your employees but you do need to monitor these things just in case. It is not considered spying if they already make this stuff public. It might be safe to let your employees know you watch these things. The more well known your employees are the more important this is, many times these employee bloggers turn into company ambassadors. I've heard stories before where employers know an employee is quitting before he or she tells them because they blogged about it or put it on MySpace. Ex. http://mattcutts.com/blog, http://bladam.com/, http://crazybob.org
8. Conversations - Are you tracking the comments from blog posts that are related to your company name, url, products, or any other buzz? These are great opportunities that allow you to participate in conversations about your company. Tools for tracking comments include Commentful, coComment, and co.mments. Ex. http://blog.outer-court.com/forum/62569.html, http://www.digg.com/software/Google_Talk_Adds_Voice_Mail_File_Sharing, http://www.flickr.com/photos/smash/36648272/
9. Brand image - What is the overall image of your brand. Do people think you're evil? Or do they love what you're doing. Ex. http://www.opinmind.com/search.jsp?q=google
10. Competitors - Track everything from 1-9 related to your competitors including; company name, URLs, products, key employees, etc. Everything. You need to be ready to move when any opportunity comes up. Ex. http://www.ysearchblog.com/, http://jeremy.zawodny.com/blog/, http://www.opinmind.com/search.jsp?q=yahoo

Let's visit Kuandykova Diana's weblog...
Hi DianaThank you!
Your article about Noam Chomsky and his view on Politics and Media was reminded me of one interesting course "Media and Society"...
We live in complicated, unpredictable world where unfortunately, sometimes media is becoming the tool in hands of bad politicians (we also have good ones). And it's awful!
But I am sure that we, as future professionals, could change the world. Media will become good friend for ordinary people and enemy for those who destroy society and peace ... It's my point of view.
One note!
Yesterday Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez had a speech at the United Nations Assembly , 20.09.06. "Chavez held up a book by American leftist writer Noam Chomsky "Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance" and recommended it to everyone in the General Assembly," foxnews reports.
It was shock speech for all!!!
Noam Chomsky
